About Me

My photo
I am a sculptor and illustrator with a Fine Arts Degree. I work with different artistic media but lately I’ve been pursuing my passion for motorcycle design and started working on both two and three dimensional concepts and prototypes.

Josh and Tara

This portrait was a commission from a friend. He really wanted a portrait of himself with his dog and I saw this as a challenge since I haven't done a dog portrait in 14 years. I think the dog is more accurately drawn than his face but this is a scan made before I retouched any mistakes.

Bad Son cover

I made this for "Bad Son" the band. It represents Lucifer as the Peacock Angel before the fall. Original drawing was made using colored pencils and black ink, the other two drawings are digitally altered versions of the original.

Danse Macabre

This is a drawing I made for a film project produced by Omnia Labor, called Danse Macabre.
One of the characters is Hespera and the other is Akhlys, an incarnation of Death.

" The Hespera of Antiquity is credited as the guardian of the Golden Apples of Immortality. In Danse Macabre, she’s a frail young woman, struggling to cope with her own imminent death from an inescapable illness."

"The dignified image of the Dacians was placed in the most prestigious place of the Roman world, in the heart of Rome, the Forum of Trajan. This is a very important and valuable fact for the history of the ancient representations of the Dacians in Roman art and for the history of the culture of Romania."
         Dr. Leonard Velcescu

Just finished this sculpture that I've been working on for the past month or so. It's a Dacian bust inspired by Ancient Roman Sculptures of Dacians. Will soon cast it in plaster to have it preserved. Like so many other artists that were inspired by Trajan's column and the statues of his forum, I too was compelled to recreate the image of a Dacian.

project "Archer", step by step

Clay modelling, my favourite part of the process.

Plaster version of the future bronze piece.

Cast bronze

This is me, clearing the unwanted imperfections on some of the surfaces .

The bronze pieces, just polished, without any patina.yet...

There are a few steps : sketching, clay modeling,  mould making, bronze casting and finally polish and patina. the only thing that I can't personally do is bronze casting, this is done by professionals in a safe environment.
The object of this theme is goddess of hunt Diana/Artemis. The idea was to capture the essence, the movement, the tension of the body and weapon. I never meant to represent a human body but rather an epiphany of the goddess which sometimes appears on ancient artifacts as a winged deity.
